I LOVE COFFEE. It’s as simple as that. I love everything about it. If I had to pick the 10 main benefits, these would definitely make my list:
THE SMELL
You just can’t beat the aroma that hits you in the face when you open a fresh bag of coffee. It’s absolutely divine.
IT TASTES AMAZING
I never knew that there were so many different flavours. It’s like wine. I’m no expert but I’m learning and I love nothing more than a smooth, nutty coffee with a hint of caramel.
IT GIVES ME A PICK ME UP
There’s no denying that it definitely gives you an energy kick. As a mother of twins who works part-time and is trying to get a new business off the ground, it’s my best friend. 8am, 10am and 2pm are my favourite times of the day for a caffeine hit. I’d be lost without it.
THE DIFFERENT WAYS TO BREW
There are so many different ways to brew your daily cuppa. I’m a capsule type of girl and love the taste and convenience of capsules. However, hubby loves his V60. My dear friend Tina loves her French press. What amazes me is that you can take the same coffee, brew it in different methods and it will taste differently each time. Maybe the brewing geek is starting to come out in me? Uh oh.
IT’S GOOD FOR ME
There has been a lot of research into the effects of coffee on your health. It is loaded with antioxidants and essential nutrients and can lower your chance of Type II Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and some types of cancer. IT’S SOCIABLE
One of the best things in life is having coffee with a friend. It’s food for the soul and makes me smile every single time.
YOU CAN GET IT ANYWHERE YOU GO
Everywhere we go as a family, we make sure we find a new cafe to try. It’s our mission to try as many specialty coffee shops as possible. They have such a wonderful vibe, are full of passionate people and great tasting coffee! Next time you visit a new place, just type ‘specialty coffee shop’ into Google and you’ll find a new place to try. Trust me, they are so much better than your standard café.
IT REDUCES STRESS
You know when you’re having a really stressful day? The kids might be driving you around the bend or work might be getting on top of you? Well, I find that coffee makes everything better. It’s my time to take 5 minutes out of my busy day, sit down and relax. You can’t beat it. (Well maybe a glass of wine might just win!)
IT’S AN ELIXIR
So you can probably tell that I love coffee. An ‘elixir’ is a magical potion that is said to have magical powers, which basically sums up coffee in my life.
