Happy to Help
All orders are sent out via the Royal Mail 48 service, however, please allow 3-4 working days for your order to arrive.
All orders over £50 are eligible for free postage and all of our subscriptions include free delivery.
We only ship to Europe and the cost is £15. It’s relatively expensive but we think it’s a good price to pay for seriously tasty coffee!
If your order hasn’t arrived after 5 workings days, please email ruth@coffeeandkin.co.uk and we will look into it for you.
So, I can’t hide it…… Mark and I are complete coffee snobs. Straight away, we can tell the difference between regular coffee and specialty coffee. It’s all about the beans, the intensity and the taste. It’s so much better than regular coffee and I will never drink anything else again. We hope you’ll agree and if you’re unsure, try our coffee and we promise that you won’t be disappointed.
Did you know that there is no single, international set of standards for organic coffee?
Most of our coffee beans are organic, however not all of the coffee in our capsules is certified as organic but it has been grown in a sustainable and ethical way. We source our coffees from a number of family-run farms, which have existed for generations. Some of them simply can’t afford the certification and it’s also very time-consuming. Our coffees are fully traceable and most importantly, they’re seriously tasty!
No, it’s not certified as Fairtrade. Gaining this certification is really expensive for small farmers and we like to support the little guys. We’re proud to work with an independent family business, who sources quality green coffees from around the world. They’re committed to creating direct, long-term relationships with coffee farmers and roasters and only want to work with good and sustainable coffees.
Our capsules are made from a blend of plant fibres and are 100% free of conventional plastic. The lid is made from paper and our boxes are fully recyclable.
Our coffee capsules are compatible with the original style Nespresso machines. They are not compatible with the new Nespresso Vertuo, Dolce Gusto, Lavazza or Tassimo machines.
Nothing is ever perfect, so if you have any problems with your capsules fitting into your machine, please email ruth@coffeeandkin.co.uk.
There are 10 capsules in each box.
Our capsules are not certified as home compostable as we don’t believe this is an ethical and honest approach.
A good and working compost heap depends on a range of different weather and aerobic conditions and quite honestly, there are just too many variables from one person’s home compost bin to another, which would enable us to say that they are home compostable.
We want to ensure that our capsules breakdown in every situation and therefore recommend putting them in an industrial composter. This way they are heated to over 55 degrees and will break down in a matter of weeks.
Our capsules can be commercially composted with food waste, but it’s important to check with your local council as everywhere is different.
If you’re unsure, you can send them back to us via our First Mile recycling scheme. Just get in touch with ruth@coffeeandkin.co.uk to arrange.
If you are unable to put compostable packaging in your food waste collection at home, you can send your capsules back to us and we will ensure they are composted correctly.
We put all our used capsules into our First Mile Recycle Box and they are sent to an Autoclave facility for composting. Within weeks, they break down into fertiliser and biogas, which is then used in farming and the energy is put back into the National Grid.
We think this is a perfect solution and ensures that our capsules don’t end up in landfill or our oceans – something which is very important to us.

In terms of strength – it’s actually a bit of a misconception. The strength of coffee is actually dependent on your taste buds. Most people perceive a coffee that tastes bitter as being strong. But it often means that it’s just been darkly roasted.
All of our capsules contain the same amount of coffee and caffeine. Our capsules also contain 100% speciality coffee, which is the best quality coffee that you can buy and is therefore not over roasted.
It really does come down to personal preference and taste but if you had to nominate one, I would say DISCOVER.
Yes and we absolutely love it! `You can buy it here. Or if you choose a mix pack, just pop a note in the comments if you’d like us to include some decaf in your order.
A report by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation predicts that by 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. This is seriously scary and we don’t want to be personally responsible for creating more plastic waste in our oceans.
We believe the future lies in recyclable and compostable packaging and therefore have invested in a capsule that can break down in a matter of weeks. We want to help our customers reduce their environmental impact on our beautiful planet.
In each box, there is either 250g of fresh coffee (ground or whole beans) or 30 compostable coffee capsules. You will also receive a selection of artisan chocolate from a small independent chocolatier. This is often in the form of three bars but can be individual chocolates. It’s an absolute taste sensation and is a great way to try new coffee and chocolate from some of the UK finest chocolate makers.
